Background

The Cipriano Cid Memorial Library which is the School of Labor and Industrial Relations Library, is a specialized unit library geared to serve and assist in the implementation of the academic programs and objectives of SOLAIR by providing support to the teaching, research and extension services of the school.

The Library collection is considered one of the most comprehensive collections of reading materials in the field of  labor and industrial relations in the country and in Asia. 

Operating on an open-shelf system, the library book collection consists of 12,686 volumes, covering subjects such as industrial relations, human resource management, labor history, collective bargaining, workers education, trade union leadership and labor management relations, among others.  Total library collection 17,095.

The ILO knowledge corner and ECOP special collections are located at the second floor of the library.  It is open to students, faculty, staff and the general public following University rules of library use.  There are books, pamphlets, manuals, CDs on topics about child labor, globalization, decent work, gender issues, informal work, labor statistics, social protection, wages, migrant workers, occupational health and safety, and many more.  The library continues to receive books and other materials from ILO and ECOP.

* Accession number used in this report is continuous and most of the books accessioned under Le, Lec, and Alec were already relocated and others were Lost and Cleared to the Auditor (LCA) and some were condemned by the property office and some were lost and paid.
**Pamphlets acquired during the previous year were re-evaluated and some were discarded.
