The CIPC Learning Session Series (LSS) #5: Unlocking Potential Through Mentorship was successfully conducted on March 24, 2026, at the 5th Floor Mini-Auditorium, New Building, UP School of Labor and Industrial Relations (UP SOLAIR), UP Diliman. Open to leaders across various industries and sectors, the session received an overwhelming 231 pre-registered participants, reflecting strong interest in mentorship as a key leadership competency. From this pool, only 60 leaders were invited due to logistical limitations, with 48 successfully attending the onsite seminar-workshop.
The program formally began at 1:00 PM with an opening ceremony, hosted by Arman Mangilinan, REPS in UP SOLAIR, who also delivered the welcome message, shared special acknowledgments, and provided an overview of the LSS. A warm-up activity engaged participants early on, followed by a pre-test to assess baseline knowledge.
Dr. Virgel C. Binghay was then introduced as the resource speaker and proceeded to lead the seminar-workshop proper, delivering an insightful and practical discussion on mentorship and its role in unlocking individual and organizational potential. Participants were able to share experiences and learnings in a group dynamic through seven case studies on mentorship applications. Then, the session featured an interactive exchange during the Q&A portion, encouraging participants to share experiences and deepen their understanding of mentorship practices.
The top five scorers from the pre-test were recognized and awarded, further motivating active engagement throughout the session. Closing remarks were delivered by Atty. Alvin Liao Alburo, Assistant Professor at UP SOLAIR and Founder and Managing Partner of Alburo Alburo & Associates Law Offices, synthesized the key takeaways and emphasized the importance of mentorship in leadership and professional growth. The event concluded with the singing of UP Naming Mahal.
