Quezon City, April 11, 2025 – The 3rd UP SOLAIR Job Fair, organized by the Center of Industry Productivity and Competitiveness (CIPC) in collaboration with the Quezon City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and graduate students from IR 222 and IR 225 under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Virgel Binghay, was held at the UP SOLAIR Auditorium. The event saw a remarkable turnout, connecting eager job seekers with leading employers from various sectors.

The event was officially inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Virgel Binghay and Dean Melissa Serrano with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, marking the beginning of a day focused on career advancement. In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Binghay highlighted the importance of shared responsibility in overcoming career challenges. He reaffirmed the job fair’s mission: to offer free access to job opportunities and support the nation’s workforce.  He stated, “It’s not just about individual achievement; it’s about collaborating with others, contributing to the greater good, and creating systems that are fair, sustainable, and inclusive.”

The job fair, featuring the participation of 34 multinational and local companies from various industries, provided a wide range of employment opportunities, from entry-level to managerial positions, to approximately 110 job seekers from Metro Manila. With around 300 job openings available, some candidates were hired on the spot, while others were shortlisted for further screening.

In addition to job matching, the job fair provided participants with vital career resources. The organizing team curated video content that included interview techniques, pre-employment guidelines, first-day job tips, and information on workers’ rights. These resources were specifically designed to equip job seekers with practical tools and information, empowering them to navigate the competitive labor market with confidence.

The success of the job fair was made possible by the dedicated efforts of IR 222 and IR 225 graduate students, including Josephine Ang, Salve Aguil, Zarra Maranan, Carla Gob, Daryl Esquivel, Ruby May Lopez, Bernadette Alcantara, Charmaene Miranda, Gwen Bautista, Karen Cordova, Arleen Lopena, Arwin Ledesma, and Cheryl Viola, as well as the contributions of Arman Mangilinan. Their teamwork and commitment were instrumental in creating a rewarding experience for both job seekers and employers.

The 3rd UP SOLAIR Job Fair exemplifies the strength of collaboration and community spirit, demonstrating that through united efforts, pathways to success and opportunity can be created for all.
