QUEZON CITY, 10 May 2024 – The University of the Philippines-Diliman was buzzing with excitement on the morning of May 10th as the first-ever Soar UP at SOLAIR Job Fair took off. This impactful event was organized by the IR 202 Class of UP School of Labor and Industrial Relations (UP SOLAIR) in collaboration with the Quezon City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and the Center for Industry Productivity and Competitiveness (CIPC).
With over 15 participating companies, mostly MSMEs, and an impressive turnout of 130 enthusiastic students and job seekers, the Soar UP at SOLAIR Job Fair surpassed expectations and ignited excitement for the future. This milestone event provided employment opportunities and served as a dynamic platform for networking between employers and fresh talents.

Professor Dr. Virgel “Dong” Binghay, the driving force behind the successful event, deserves recognition for his visionary leadership in community service and career development. His passion and dedication, that were evident throughout the event, ensured its smooth execution. The exceptional IR 202 students, led by Jenica Dela Cruz-Billones, along with Mae Abuda, Rhoderick Rodica, Lester Gepulgani, Arleen Cris Lopena, Cyrill Mae Santos, Atty. Michael Daguinod, Engr. Justin Carpio, Yuji Ayap, Enjay Mulder Tamaray, Ronnie Magat, and Justine Linsasagin, played a crucial role in the success of the event. The ardent support from Arman Mangilinan and Brian Gumiran from CIPC in managing the event logistics are also of utmost value.

Ms. Cyrill Santos captivated attendees with her expertise on soft skills and competencies as part of workplace essentials, while Engr. Justin Carpio empowered participants with strategies on how to thrive in the digital workplace.
